History

United Contractors was originally founded in the late 1940's by Carl Jensen under the name United Contracting Company. We originally constructed small bridges and structures in rural, central Iowa. On April 1, 1959, United was incorporated under it's current name, United Contractors, Inc. At that time, the company consisted of three crews and completed one million dollars of construction per year. In the many years that have followed, United has enjoyed great success in the heavy construction industry.

Our Mission Statement:

United Contractors, Inc. shall strive to become the most efficient heavy highway contractor in the industry, while constantly looking and investigating new opportunities for growth.  We will continually strive for safety, quality, efficiency, and innovation in everything we do.
